Slot Maintains He Feels Secure and Retains Liverpool's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Loss

Arne Slot admitted that it was understandable for concerns to be asked about his position following a further convincing loss against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool endured their 9th loss in twelve games, representing the club's poorest run since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie title holders on a tough night at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, I am OK, I've received a lot of support from management,” Slot commented.

“It's important to reverse this trend and get a victory naturally but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He added, “I accept my position. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Conversations with Club Management

When asked to provide details on his dialogues with the team officials, Slot said:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful for the squad and for me and we have those conversations but they don't phone me every single minute each day to say they back me.”

He added, “During our regular discussions I sense the trust. But I haven’t spoken to them since this defeat so far so we'll see.”

Persistent Problems and Squad Reaction

The manager highlighted known failings from his squad in their European loss, specifically poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Frankly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones stated.

“It’s just unacceptable. I don’t even need to wait to think about it. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the words.”

He went on, “It's tough because I’m playing for the side I follow. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club for years.”

“In recent memory, I've not seen a Reds side going through a phase of this nature with outcomes like these.”

Jones concluded, “However we continue to wear the emblem on our shirts. And as long as it is taken away, we’re always going to battle.”

“Our aim is to get this team return to its rightful place, show everyone again what this club is about and the reason it's called the top club in the planet.”

“However currently, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
