Bills' Bay Day Opens New England Path to Top Spot - Highlights of Week 10 NFL Action

The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many people into the NFL
That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into seven points just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen trying to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on whether this is the start of a trend, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the Patriots, they're among three eight and two teams in the league, all AFC sides, but are they the best?
One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his team to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record due to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jaguars to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up forty points to go to seven and two before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles
Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest
Both could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three scores and contributing another 42 {receiving yards
